Keystone Edge PY17-PY19 Multi-Year Regional Plan and Northwest WDA PY17-PY19 Multi-Year Local Plan Postings

WIOA requires states to identify planning regions, which consist of two or more local areas.  The Commonwealth identified the local areas of West Central Workforce Development Area (Lawrence and Mercer Counties) and Northwest Workforce Development Area (Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Venango, and Warren Counties) as the planning region.  Through collaboration, a regional plan for the Keystone Edge Workforce Development Region has been formulated, and each local area has developed a multi-year plan for their area.

The draft PY17-PY19 multi-year plans for the Keystone Edge Workforce Development Region and Northwest Workforce Development Area have been posted to our website at http://www.nwpawib.org. Hard copies of these plans may be viewed at the Northwest Workforce Development Board’s administrative office at 920 Water Street, Suite 32B, Meadville, PA 16335.  West Central Workforce Development Area’s Local Plan may be viewed at http://www.wcjp.org/?page_id=910.

Public comments will be accepted on the Keystone Edge Workforce Region and Northwest Workforce Development Area’s Local Plan until 12:00 noon on August 27, 2017.  Comments will need to be submitted in writing by the date and time listed.  Comments will be accepted via the US Postal Service and must delivered prior to the end of the comment period. Hand-delivered comments will also be accepted at the address listed above, or comments may be emailed to Workforce Development Board Staff at participate@nwpawib.org. Please indicate the plan you are commenting on.

Additionally, comments on the Northwest’s Local Plan will be collected at public listening sessions held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, at locations around the Northwest WDA. Please click here for more information on registering for a session.

Comments received during this period will be considered by a committee of Northwest Workforce Development Board Members and elected officials, and necessary revisions will be made to the Regional and/or Local Plans prior to the submission to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Bureau of Workforce Partnership and Operations.
