Northwest PA Workforce Development Network

The Regional Career Education Partnership which will strengthen and expand career education efforts across the six-county region. A steering committee has been established which will guide the activities of the Partnership.

The Partnership will:

· Identify best practices and convene forums for those organizations to share their methods with others

· Promote the regional industry clusters, high-demand/high-priority occupations, and post-secondary training opportunities to students, parents and schools

· Locate established tools and resources and make these available across the region

· Create programs and/or tools to fill the needs of the schools and communities if existing resources cannot be found

· Use the NWPA WIB web portal to house an on-line library of tools and a communication forum

· Promote career education and awareness to employers to develop job shadowing and internship opportunities

· Connect partners with each other and outside entities to build a network of career education providers

· Establish better communication between the partners to facilitate sharing of ideas and promote successes

· Identify additional partners including employers, community organizations, schools, and others

· Measure the success of career education efforts by examining increases in activities, number of students served, network expansion, and performance assessments
