Regional Workforce Development Network
In March 2005, the regional community came together in an effort to create a communications network designed to breach geographic distance barriers inherent within multi-county regional organizations. The ultimate goal was to connect resources available to employers and create economic and capital efficiencies in the hope of offering a seamless, non-duplicative system of support and common vision.
Today, northwest PA is home to an active, effective Regional Workforce Development Network (RWDN) representing a unified effort of private sector, workforce, economic development, government and education resources targeted at providing assistance to help employers remain competitive in an ever-increasing global market.
Now a nationally recognized best practice, the RWDN includes a remarkable list of groups notwithstanding Workforce Investment Boards, Planning Commissions, County-Level Teams, Industry Partnerships, an Entrepreneurial Support Team, CareerLink Business Service Units and a Career Education Partnership, creating a pipeline of resources that ensures both competitiveness and workforce retention.
