Transportation Education and Economic Network (TEEN) - The West Central Workforce Investment Board has taken the lead on forming the TEEN partnership. TEEN has aided firms in the recruitment, placement and training of truck drivers who initially lacked the skills necessary to perform effectively. Some individual firms have calculated as much as a 25 percent increase in production since implementing better training systems. Additionally, several participating firms maintain that TEEN-sponsored recruitment strategies and training have enabled them to operate efficiently.

Through this partnership in the coming year, the Northwest WIBwill be identifying additional transportation modalities that should be added to the TEEN partnership. With the region’s proximity to the Great Lakes , multiple rail lines, airports and cargo and shipping facilities, the possibilities exist to expand the focus of this partnership to encompass the entire transportation nexus.
