Keystone Innovation Zones
Keystone Innovation Zones (KIZ) are economic stimulus programs that align and share the resources of higher education institutions, private business, commercial lenders, business support organizations, and venture capital. The programs encourage businesses to start-up or locate in proximity to educational resources to exchange ideas, promote technology, and take advantage of mutual resources and expertise. Zones are designated by geographic region, and industries targeted for benefits include advanced manufacturing, environmental industries, life sciences, and information technologies. Participating businesses can take advantage of site selection assistance, tax credits, grants, and state financing options.
